Job Title - JD – Manager – L&E Compliance Bengaluru
About Team
This position in Ethics & Compliance team is responsible to initiate, design and ensure the implementation of policies, procedures and controls so that Company's compliance with employment laws is complied. This position serves as key strategic compliance partner for human resources on employment and labour compliance requirements.
About the role
1. Initiate and assist the relevant departments to design policies, guidelines and procedures to drive employment compliance across the enterprise.
2. Areas of scope include all company hiring practices, wages, discrimination/harassment, workplace violence, accessibility and other employment obligations. Monitor the implementation of employment compliance programs, systems and training.
3. Initiates cross-functional efforts to drive organizational alignment and ensure compliance with employment obligations.
4. Defines success metrics for areas of responsibility and integrates them into core business metrics. Monitor, evaluate and measure operational program processes for review with cross-functional teams to close employment compliance gaps, and drive continuous improvement.
5. Articulates corporate positions on compliance matters to regulators and external agencies and directs involvement with regulators to ensure compliance with all legal requirements.
6. Develops external relationships and alliances strengthening on the company’s reputation within compliance community and leads regulatory outreach meetings, ensuring that the company’s compliance programs, policies, procedures and reports are communicated in a persuasive, accurate and understandable way and that sensitive data is protected. Monitors emerging compliance requirements, including new regulations, and develops strategies to respond to compliance risk.
7. Ensures that compliance programs, policies, procedures and reporting are consistent with global direction and leverage global talent and resources.
8. Manage the development and implementation of cross-functional compliance risk identification, monitoring and assessment procedures. Conduct and direct assessments to identify required compliance strategies and action plans for review with cross-functional teams and provide feedback and recommendations for process controls or policy improvements.
9. Collaborate with compliance training & communications team relating to communications, alerts and tools for educating partners. Assisting the relevant department to implement the changes in laws and notifications to ensure compliance of all such new developments of regulations, notifications or circulars.
10. Capable of understanding and interpreting the legal framework of labour and employment laws and the changes therein such as adapting to new framework of codes.
11. Drafting and vetting of all statutory notices on the subject areas and ensuring the closure of notices by adequate representations in the concerned departments. Maintaining the MIS for market and global reporting’s.
12. Ensuring the contractor compliances are complied with all the applicable legislations.
13. Labour Codes Implementation.
What you will need
8+ years of experience of working in Technology/Product/ Ecommerce/Consulting organizations driving employment charter. Knowing International labour laws is additional advantage.
Experienced in implementing and managing employment law compliance programs and possesses good communication skills. Detail and process oriented, thought leader and is well versed with latest trends in their core areas and their applicability for business impact.
