Afterschool Teacher

Job Title: Afterschool Teacher

• SW - Multnomah Village
• SW - Sylvan
• NW - Forest Heights

Lead Teacher: $19–$20/hour (Part-time)
 

You’ll help create a safe, welcoming, and engaging afterschool environment where students can learn and grow. This role is an opportunity to be a mentor and role model while helping students build confidence, curiosity, and strong relationships.

• →Planning and leading enrichment activities and curriculum
• →Supporting students’ social, emotional, and academic development
• →Creating a positive and inclusive environment
• →Collaborating with staff, families, and the community
• →Ensuring student safety and well-being at all times

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 18 years old
• Enrollment in the Central Background Registry
• One of the following (Teacher qualification):
  • 240 hours of experience working with youth, or
  • AA/BA in education, child development, or a related field

This is an active, hands-on role:

• Fast-paced and often noisy environment
• May involve lifting up to 50 pounds, as well as bending, standing, and moving throughout the day
• Responsibility for maintaining a clean and safe space
• Requires vision and hearing within standard ranges and clear speaking ability
