High School Teacher

Prep Academy Tutors – Vancouver Island is seeking exceptional High School Teachers to join our growing team in Victoria, BC. We provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring in students' homes and online, supporting students in Grades 9–12 as they build academic confidence, strengthen subject knowledge, and prepare for graduation and post-secondary success.

Our tutors do more than improve grades—they mentor students, develop effective learning strategies, and help learners reach their full academic potential through individualized instruction.

As a High School Teacher with Prep Academy Tutors, you will provide one-on-one tutoring to students in Grades 8 through 12, helping them master course content, prepare for assessments, improve study habits, and build confidence in challenging subjects.

Tutoring sessions are delivered in students' homes and online, giving you the opportunity to provide individualized instruction that complements classroom learning and supports each student's academic goals.

We're looking for educators who have:

• A Bachelor of Education or a degree in a teachable subject.
• A valid BC Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for certification).
• Experience teaching or working with secondary students.
• A strong understanding of the BC secondary curriculum.
• Expertise in one or more high school subject areas, such as:
  • Mathematics (including Foundations, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus)
  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Biology
  • English Language Arts
  • Social Studies
  • French
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A student-centred approach with the ability to motivate and engage adolescents.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• A valid driver's licence and reliable transportation for in-home tutoring.
• The ability to successfully complete a Criminal Record Check.

You will:

• →Deliver engaging, individualized tutoring sessions aligned with the BC curriculum.
• →Support students with coursework, assignments, exam preparation, and enrichment.
• →Develop personalized learning plans based on each student's strengths, challenges, and goals.
• →Teach effective study strategies, organization, and critical thinking skills.
• →Monitor progress and communicate regularly with families.
• →Foster a supportive learning environment that encourages confidence, independence, and academic success.
