Team Overview

As the Sr. Copywriter & Editor, you are a vital part of the Communications Team. In this role, you will report to the Content Director on the Constituent Communications team and are responsible for producing frequent and compelling content that inspires action to a broad audience through direct mail, email, and web content and contribute to content used to communicate via a variety of channels accurately and in a timely fashion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write regular content for direct mail and digital monthly fundraising campaigns, including appeal letters, newsletters, proposals, emails, donation and landing pages, and more. Content should advance the objectives of Direct Response and be aligned with Communications and Advocacy Priorities.
  • Simplify complex legal and cultural issues into clear, concise, and engaging content that helps users understand why they should care, how it affects them, and what they can do to take action.
  • Edit the work of others to ensure strong, consistent messaging and build up and train writers on the team.
  • Act as a frontline brand manager by shaping the audience’s perception of Alliance Defending Freedom.
  • Work with other Team Members to ensure content speaks with one voice, is consistent with legal objectives and messaging, adheres to brand guidelines, and inspires online users to take action through multiple channels.
  • Evaluate all ADF cases, programs, and strategic projects for their potential for acquisition or fundraising campaigns.
  • Occasionally work cross-team to craft content for Faith & Justice magazine, opinion editorials, web articles, and other channels as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or related field.
  • 3+ years experience as a writer.
