SUMMARY

PS&E is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to support the organization’s hiring goals across full-time, part-time, and intern positions. This role will partner with all areas of the company (both commercial and basketball) when it comes to recruiting, onboarding, and retaining talent. They will work with the Director/Talent Acquisition to ensure a top-tier hiring experience for all employees. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will also play a key role in educating and supporting hiring managers with best practices and tools that enable consistent, effective, and inclusive hiring decisions.

We are looking for a candidate that has excellent communication skills, a high attention to detail, and an ability to work under their own self-direction. Strong prioritization and relationship building skills are key to success in this role. We are looking for someone who embraces new and emerging technology and can see projects through to completion.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage assigned full-time requisitions through the full recruiting lifecycle, including but not limited to:
    • Leading hiring manager intake meetings to set recruitment strategy and timelines
    • Updating job descriptions and benchmarking compensation targets.
    • Posting jobs through the ATS and other channels (ex: external job boards).
    • Screening applications and sourcing additional candidates if needed.
    • Scheduling and conducting initial phone interviews.
    • Providing candidate recommendations to hiring managers.
    • Assisting with scheduling and interview coordination for hiring managers in later stage interviews.
    • Initiating reference check requests.
    • Drafting and extending offers with hiring managers.
    • Communicating candidate feedback in a timely manner and providing a high touch recruiting experience.
  • Attend recruiting events and job fairs as a representative of PS&E when needed.
  • Assist Director/Talent Acquisition with the intern hiring process, including:
    • Full-cycle recruiting for internship roles (spring, summer, fall).
    • Supporting season associate hiring including requisition creation and offer letter preparation.
    • Interviewing executive referral candidates and aligning them with appropriate opportunities based on their experience and skillset.
    • Managing onboarding and offboarding processes for interns and season associates.
    • Tracking intern hours against departmental budgets and proactively notify managers of overages.
  • Assist department with the development and ongoing evolution of PS&E’s employer brand and employee value proposition, including brand guidelines for PS&E Careers, the careers site, internal and external talent communications, and storytelling that highlights the employee experience and life at Pacers Sports & Entertainment.
  • Manage assigned onboarding sessions for full-time new hires, including but not limited to:
    • Assisting with the design, programming, and presentation of PS&E’s New Hire Orientation for full-time employees to create a memorable, engaging, and informative experience, ensuring new hires feel welcomed, connected, and prepared to succeed from day one.
    • Partnering with internal stakeholders across the organization to curate meaningful content that reflects PS&E’s culture, values, and business priorities.
    • Initiating onboarding in ADP Workforce Now.
    • Serving as the liaison for all new hires during their onboarding experience.
    • Assisting in any way possible to ensure a positive first day experience.
    • Regularly evaluating and enhancing the onboarding program based on feedback, engagement, and evolving organizational needs.
  • Assist with part-time rookie onboarding support as needed.
  • Assist with managing recruiting technology partners (Crosschq, ClearCompany, etc.).
  • Participate in monthly NBA Talent Acquisition calls to collaborate and remain up to date on TA news within the league.
  • Deliver top notch customer service and demonstrate core mission “Make Everyone a Fan” in all interactions with candidates and employees and within partners and outside the company.
  • Ensure all full-time and part-time employees are accurately hired into ADP Workforce Now upon completion of onboarding requirements to support system integrity and downstream HR processes.
  • Handle issues and requests in a positive, professional, and confidential manner. Serve as an ambassador for all HR and company programs to positively impact and reflect our culture.
  • Support part time and event focused employees and work a flexible schedule that could include some evening/weekend events or meetings.
  • Have detailed understanding of the company handbook and other company policies and programs.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Support PSE’s team culture by providing inter-departmental support when needed. This support could include chipping in with projects, essential needs, or events to ensure the company is successful which may involve working evenings or weekends.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required. At least one year of professional work experience in recruiting. Previous experience in HR and/or HR certifications are a plus.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Employee should have excellent computer skills including very solid knowledge of MS Office including Excel, Windows, Word, PowerPoint and Teams. Experience using ADP Workforce Now, or another HRIS/payroll software is a plus. Experience learning and adapting to new technologies is critical for this position.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret instructions and reports. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required; ability to connect with employees at all levels and interact effectively with internal and external partners effectively both in writing and verbally.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Knowledge to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as analyzing costs, figuring statistics, interpreting governmental forms, developing spreadsheets and tracking data to support compliance and improve processes.

REASONAING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret directions. Ability to adapt, adjust and problem solve continuously to achieve consistent positive outcomes.

While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the office work environment is usually moderate and the noise level in the Fieldhouse / game environment is usually loud. The stress level may become high during certain times of the year.
