Rate: £25.00 – £32.00 per hour
Working Hours: Part-time/Full-Time
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist to provide a highly specialist service within an acute hospital setting in South Yorkshire. This role focuses on supporting adults presenting with a wide range of communication and swallowing difficulties, including dysphagia.
You will play a vital role within the multidisciplinary team, delivering expert assessment, diagnosis, and management for patients with complex needs. This opportunity is well suited to a Band 6 or Band 7 clinician who is confident working independently in an acute environment and passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.

Provide a highly specialist Speech and Language Therapy service to adults with communication and swallowing difficulties, including dysphagia.

Undertake comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning for patients within an acute hospital setting.

Offer specialist clinical advice and support to the wider multidisciplinary team.

Manage and prioritise a complex clinical caseload independently.

Maintain accurate, timely, and professional clinical documentation in line with service and professional standards.

Contribute to service development, audits, and quality improvement initiatives where appropriate.
Requirements

A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).

HCPC registration and eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).

Proven experience working with adults with dysphagia and communication disorders in an acute or hospital setting.

Strong clinical reasoning, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
