This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced physiotherapist looking to further develop their acute clinical skills within a fast-paced and supportive multidisciplinary team. You will work across acute medical wards, supporting patients with complex respiratory, neurological, and medical conditions to maximise their independence and facilitate safe discharge planning.
As a Band 6 Physiotherapist, you will be responsible for assessing, treating, and managing patients within an acute medicine setting. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality rehabilitation, respiratory care, and mobility assessments whilst contributing to patient flow and discharge planning.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Undertake comprehensive physiotherapy assessments of acute medical patients.
- →Deliver evidence-based treatment plans to optimise patient outcomes.
- →Manage a varied caseload across acute medical wards.
- →Support respiratory physiotherapy interventions where required.
- →Work closely with consultants, nursing teams, occupational therapists, and discharge coordinators.
- →Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and discharge planning.
- →Supervise and support junior physiotherapy staff and students.
- →Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Requirements
~1 min read- Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent qualification.
- Current HCPC registration.
- Previous NHS experience within an acute inpatient setting.
- Experience managing acute medical patients independently.
- Strong communication and clinical reasoning skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
