Responsibilities
~1 min readThe role involves performing a wide range of diagnostic tests within the Biochemistry department, ensuring all procedures are carried out in accordance with laboratory protocols and quality standards. The Biomedical Scientist will be responsible for operating and maintaining Cobas Pure and Cobas 8000 analysers, as well as utilising Q-Pulse for quality management. Duties include sample processing, result validation, equipment calibration, and participation in internal and external quality assurance schemes. The ability to work independently and flexibly across different shifts is essential.
Requirements
~1 min read- HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist
- Minimum of 2 years’ post-registration experience in Biochemistry
- Proficient in using Cobas Pure and Cobas 8000 analysers
- Experience with Q-Pulse quality management system
- Familiarity with UKAS standards and laboratory best practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
