Working Hours: Monday – Sunday shifts between 08:00 – 20:00
Pay Rate: £30.00 - £35.00 P/H
Responsibilities
~1 min readA Band 7 Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for providing compassionate patient care, preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, performing and monitoring imaging procedures, and adhering to strict radiation safety protocols. They supervise other technologists and support staff, conduct quality control on equipment and radiopharmaceuticals, maintain accurate records, ensure regulatory compliance, and participate in continuing education to stay updated with advancements in the field. Additionally, they are prepared to respond to emergencies, providing lifesaving first aid when necessary. These responsibilities ensure high-quality patient care and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
Requirements
~1 min read- Relevant degree in Nuclear Medicine or Radiography.
- HCPC registration as a Radiographer or Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
- Minimum 1-2 years post-qualification in Nuclear Medicine (NHS or private setting).
- Proficient with gamma cameras, PET-CT scanners, and radiopharmaceuticals.
- Strong knowledge of radiation safety protocols and quality assurance.
- Ability to administer radiopharmaceuticals and conduct diagnostic procedures.
- Excellent communication skills with patients and healthcare teams.
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead and supervise junior staff when required.
