Location: Hillingdon
Start Date: ASAP
Hourly Rate: £24.00–£32.00 an hour
Working Hours: Full-time or Part-time (flexible)
Contract Length: 3 months initially (with potential for extension)
Car Driver: Essential – This role requires travel to schools across Hillingdon and surrounding boroughs. Candidates must have access to a car.

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Paediatric Community Speech and Language Therapist to join a dedicated team delivering high-quality services across schools in the Hillingdon area.

Based at the Wood End Centre in Hayes, this role offers the chance to make a real difference to the lives of children with speech, language, and communication needs by providing care directly in school settings. You’ll be joining a collaborative and proactive team that is passionate about child-centred care and community engagement.

This is an excellent opportunity for a therapist with experience in paediatrics, particularly within educational or community settings, who is confident working both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.


Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Independently assess, diagnose, manage, and evaluate outcomes for children with a variety of speech, language, and communication needs, including complex cases.

  • Provide school-based interventions and collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and families to ensure integrated support.

  • Deliver therapy in line with evidence-based practice, adapting to the needs of individual children across different school environments.

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical records and reports.

  • Support the development of therapy programmes and contribute to service improvement initiatives.

  • Provide clinical supervision and support to junior staff where appropriate.

  • Contribute to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) processes through assessments and reports.

  • Adhere to local safeguarding, clinical governance, and health and safety policies.


Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).

  • HCPC registration and eligibility for RCSLT membership.

  • Previous experience working with children and young people, ideally within educational or community settings.

  • Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Access to a vehicle and a full UK driving licence (essential).

  • A proactive, flexible, and reflective approach to clinical practice.
