Job Title: Paediatric Community Speech and Language Therapist – East London
Banding: Band 6/7 (Dependent on Experience)
Location: East London (near All Saints DLR)
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £24.00–£37.00 per hour (or permanent equivalent)
Working Hours: Part-time (2.5 days per week)
We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join a paediatric community service in East London, supporting children within mainstream primary school settings.
This role involves working across two primary schools located in close proximity, providing targeted support to children with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN). You will spend two days in one school and half a day in the second, delivering tailored interventions and supporting pupils to achieve their full potential.
This opportunity is suitable for a Band 6 or Band 7 therapist looking for flexible, part-time work. Both locum and permanent candidates will be considered.
Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and support children with speech, language, and communication needs within mainstream school settings.
• Deliver individual and group therapy sessions tailored to pupils’ needs.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff to support communication strategies in the classroom.
• Provide advice, training, and support to school staff and parents/carers.
• Maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional standards.
• Contribute to reviews and multi-disciplinary discussions where appropriate.

• HCPC registration and membership (or eligibility) with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
• Experience working with paediatric caseloads, ideally within community or school settings.

• A proactive and flexible approach to delivering therapy in educational environments.
