Banding: Band 6/7
Location: Northolt and Uxbridge, London
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: £35.00 – £45.00 per hour
Working Hours: Full-time or Part-time considered
Contract Length: 3 months (with potential for extension)
We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to work within a group of special schools in Northolt and Uxbridge. These educational settings support children and young adults with a broad range of learning disabilities, including autism, physical disabilities, and sensory needs.
In this role, you will provide specialist assessment, intervention, and support to help students develop essential communication skills and access their learning environment more effectively. You’ll work as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team across both school sites, delivering a mix of 1:1 therapy, group sessions, and classroom-based support.
This position is ideal for a Band 6 or Band 7 therapist with a strong background in paediatrics, special educational needs (SEN), and autism spectrum conditions.

Undertake comprehensive assessments and develop individualised therapy plans.

Work closely with teaching staff, parents, and other professionals to support communication across educational and home settings.

Provide input in multidisciplinary meetings, annual reviews, and Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) processes.

Document therapy goals, progress, and outcomes in line with clinical and legal standards.

Provide advice, strategies, and resources to support staff in embedding communication approaches into daily school routines.

Current HCPC registration.

Experience working with children and young people with complex needs in a special school or SEN setting.

Knowledge of autism, learning disabilities, and alternative communication approaches (e.g., PECS, AAC).

Strong teamworking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
