Responsibilities
~1 min readYou provide clinical leadership and psychiatric care to adults with diverse mental health needs, conducting thorough assessments, making diagnoses, and developing treatment plans. As a Section 12-approved clinician under the Mental Health Act, you oversee care under the CPA and work closely with multidisciplinary teams. You support junior staff, contribute to service development and governance, and engage families and external agencies to ensure holistic, person-centred care.
Requirements
~1 min read- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
- Inclusion on the Specialist Register for General Adult Psychiatry (or within 6 months of CCT)
- Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status – essential
- Experience working in inpatient and/or community mental health settings
- Strong leadership, communication, and clinical decision-making skills
- Commitment to continuous professional development and clinical governance
