Assistant Operations Manager - Towanda, PA

R.J. Corman Railroad Company is currently seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to join our team in Towanda, PA.

• →Ensure the safe, efficient, and profitable general management of railroad operations.
• →Assist with scheduling, coordinating, and supervising personnel, materials, tools, and equipment in daily operations.
• →Perform the duties of the Train Crew Members they supervise as needed.
• →Fill in for the Operations Manager in his/her absence.
• →Apply FRA safety rules and procedures
• →Maintain availability 24/7/365 for emergencies and operational needs.

•   Familiarity with and ability to apply FRA safety rules and procedures.
• Self-motivated leadership skills. 
• Good communication skills.
• Railroad experience preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

• Able to perform physically strenuous work.
• Able to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
• Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Requires occasional use of a 30 lb claw bar to remove spikes, requiring application of 50 lbs of force.
• Requires occasional use of a 10 lb sledgehammer to drive spikes, requiring application of 75 lbs of force.
• Able to work outdoors in inclement weather.
• Able to walk, climb, and maintain balance on equipment, stairs, ladders, uneven terrain, rails, and ballast in a safe manner.
• Able to navigate into confined spaces if necessary.
• Must be able to lift, carry, stand, walk on uneven surfaces, manually manipulate, grasp, reach out, climb, kneel, bend, twist, and push/pull.

• Work is performed outside in varying types of environmental conditions.
• Requires extended periods of strenuous physical activity under various field and weather conditions.
• Operates in a fast-paced work environment.
• Performs duties in and around moving locomotives, railcars, vehicles, and equipment.
• Frequent exposure to weather elements.
• Appropriate PPE required for job site visits.
