R. J. Corman Railroad Company is currently seeking a Track Crew Member to join our team in Lebanon, TN.

Responsibilities:

Inspects, installs, and maintains railroad track in an industrial yard setting.
Completes required job duties safely and efficiently.
Completes all required documentation.
Promotes a safe work environment.
Other duties as assigned.
Carry out responsibilities in a fast-paced railroad/construction environment.
Effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities in a time-sensitive setting.
Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with supervisors, employees, contractors, and customers.

Ability to operate power tools.
Railroad construction experience preferred.

Requirements

Able to perform physical strenuous work.
Able to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Requires occasional use of 30 lb claw bar to remove spikes, requiring application of 50 lbs of force.
Requires occasional use of 10 lb sledge hammer to drive spikes, requiring application of 75 lbs of force.
Able to walk, climb, and maintain balance on equipment, stairs, ladders, uneven terrain, rails and ballast in a safe manner.
Able to navigate into confined spaces if necessary.

Work is performed outside in varying types of environmental conditions.
Extensive travel required.
Must be able to work away from home for extended periods.
Must be available to work long hours, weekends, and on-call/emergency response schedules as needed.
Work is performed primarily outdoors in railroad, construction, and emergency response environments under varying weather conditions.
