We're looking for an Art Director to develop digital assets and emails. The role demands both the conceptual thinking of an art director and the design craft of a graphic designer: you'll frame problems visually, set direction, execute clean methodical design. You'll work strategically with copywriters, strategists, and tech partners, and maintain the discipline and organization that keeps complex projects moving at pace.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Design email campaigns and digital assets from concept through execution, presenting back to clients with clarity and confidence
- →Execute with precision—bring clean design principles, methodical workflows, and high craft standards to every deliverable
- →Build and evolve design systems that enable consistency, speed, and scalability across digital display, social, interactive, CRM and email campaigns
- →Lead by example—your organization, process, and methodical approach set the standard for how team members and collaborators work
- →Collaborate cross-functionally with copywriters, strategists, account teams, and developers to ensure design serves strategy
- →Think in motion—understand where animation adds value, develop animate gif and animated assets for digital and email, and ensure motion work integrates seamlessly
- →Maintain design quality while working at pace—because speed and excellence aren't mutually exclusive when your process is sound
- →Stay sharp on design trends and best practices, bringing fresh thinking to precision marketing while knowing when to apply it
- →Present design work clearly to teams and stakeholders, explaining the thinking and strategy behind creative decisions
- Art director thinking—you frame problems conceptually, establish direction, and know when something is working before execution
- Graphic designer craft—you execute with precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to clean, purposeful design
- Strategic vision—you think ahead and think big; you spot opportunities to elevate email campaigns beyond the brief, bring innovative ideas to the table, and push the work forward
- Figma expertise—fluent, fast, and able to think in systems and components
- Proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Premier, Photoshop—able to generate clean animated GIFs, social videos, online video, edit sound, music as needed
- Mastery of digital display, social and OLV design—you know the ins and outs of resizing, platform nuances, DCO, and how to optimize for each channel
- Mastery of email design—you know responsive layouts, rendering quirks, segmentation possibilities, and how to design for results
- Design system thinking—you build with consistency, scalability, and reusability in mind
- Organization and methodology—you have a clear process for working, managing complexity, and keeping projects on track
- Motion thinking—you understand where animation enhances email and digital assets, can brief motion designers effectively, and know the technical constraints of animated gifs in email
- Attention to detail without getting lost in it—you catch the small things that matter and know when done is done
- Collaborative instincts—you work well across disciplines, listen actively, and elevate the whole team's thinking
- Multi-project discipline—you manage competing deadlines, fast turnarounds, and multiple workstreams without losing quality
- Strong presentation skills—you can articulate design decisions and walk clients through your thinking with confidence and clarity
RAPP's current hybrid model is designed to enable in-person connections and collaboration that is core to our culture, while also supporting flexibility for all employees. As such, we have the option to work from home two days per week, if we'd like.
