As a member of our Trauma team, you will play an integral role in attending all Level 1 and 2 trauma call-outs, directly contributing to trauma assessment and patient care. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation in our trauma booklet, gathering essential pre-hospital data, and ensuring that all information is recorded for the National Trauma Registry. Your clinical expertise will be put to the test as you perform primary, secondary, and tertiary surveys on trauma patients, and demonstrate vital trauma skills such as tube thoracostomies, splinting fractures, and wound washouts.
In addition to your clinical duties, you will actively engage in educational opportunities by presenting Level 1 trauma cases during weekly audits and attending regular teaching sessions led by our Trauma consultants and fellows. The role also includes clinical supervision, with guidance from the Emergency Department Consultant, Trauma Fellow, and Trauma Surgical Consultants in assessing and managing patients. You will have the opportunity to enhance your knowledge and skills in a supportive environment while contributing to the ongoing development of our Trauma Service.
