About the role
The Director of Clinical Training provides clinical leadership for prevocational doctors, TMOs, IMGs and junior medical staff within Limestone Coast Local Health Network (LCLHN), ensuring high-quality education, training, assessment and support aligned with SA MET, AHPRA and AMC standards. The role leads the Medical Education Unit, driving education excellence, professional development, stakeholder engagement, clinical governance, quality improvement and continuing professional development initiatives.
 
About you
Are you an experienced clinical leader passionate about medical education and developing the next generation of doctors? Limestone Coast Local Health Network is seeking a Director of Clinical Training to lead the Medical Education Unit, ensuring high-quality training, support and assessment for Interns, TMOs and IMGs. This role provides strategic leadership, strengthens clinical governance and accreditation standards, builds key stakeholder partnerships, and drives continuous improvement to foster a safe, supportive and innovative learning environment across LCLHN.
 
As a Director of Clinical Training, you will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment where your expertise in the medical workforce will directly impact the quality-of-care education and training for junior medical staff.
 
to succeed in the Director of Clinical Training role you will:
  • Hold a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, with appropriate specialist qualifications and eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a medical practitioner with specialist registration.
  • Demonstrate strong clinical leadership capability with experience applying clinical governance, quality improvement, safety and risk management principles within complex health service environments.
  • Bring demonstrated experience in medical education, teaching and supporting the development of Interns, TMOs, IMGs, junior medical staff and other healthcare professionals.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead teams, foster a positive learning culture, build effective stakeholder relationships and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, education providers and professional bodies.
  • Demonstrate the proven ability to drive service improvement, implement innovative approaches, support accreditation requirements and enhance education and training outcomes through evidence-based practice.
