NALHN's Graduate Occupational Therapist Program at Lyell McEwin Health Service offers a structured, supported entry into a busy metropolitan health service where your contribution to patient outcomes will be felt from day one.
This role enables you access to the NALHN Allied Health Professional Graduate Program which is an 11-month interprofessional learning opportunity developed to support the integration and development of AHP1 clinicians early in their career, into the Allied Health team and the wider NALHN organisation.
Your Role at Lyell McEwinThis is a full-time, fixed-term contract role running through to 31 December 2028, embedded within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network. You'll work across clinical areas delivering occupational therapy assessment and intervention to a genuinely diverse patient population in Adelaide's northern suburbs. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting occupational therapy assessments and developing goal-directed intervention plans under clinical supervision
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support safe and timely patient discharge
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation in line with SA Health standards
- Participating in the NALHN graduate support program, including regular supervision and professional development activities
- Current AHPRA registration (or eligibility to register) as an Occupational Therapist
- A foundational understanding of evidence-based OT practice in an acute or subacute context
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to work respectfully within a team
- Commitment to SA Health's values of respect, integrity, accountability, and being patient-centred
To be eligible for this position, you must have an appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
