Procurement & Inventory Manager

Leading national purchasing and stock optimisation strategies for a construction industry supplier, you will drive supply chain efficiency and inventory control to support business growth. The primary focus is to balance working capital reduction with seamless material availability across nationwide branch networks. This national role exercises full portfolio ownership over core industrial product categories. Reporting directly to the Executive Team with matrix leadership over nationwide branch stock controllers, the position builds data-driven demand forecasting models, oversees international sourcing logistics, and standardises national procurement contracts. Key Responsibilities Manage purchasing frameworks for core industrial and raw material portfolios to secure best value Consolidate buying power across all national production facilities and branch networks Standardise ad-hoc local branch purchases into structured, pre-negotiated national contracts to enforce supplier governance. Develop predictive forecasting models tracking seasonal trends and market dynamics to optimize demand planning. Audit stock rotation patterns to minimize slow-moving inventory and free up working capital. Establish customized minimum and maximum stock thresholds for individual branches based on facility size and local demand. Manage import risks for raw materials, tracking global price indexes, handling currency fluctuations, and auditing import tariffs. Coordinate with freight forwarders and customs agents to streamline border clearances and prevent port delays. Draft, maintain, and enforce National Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with core vendors. Conduct supplier performance audits using scorecards measuring on-time delivery, product quality, and price consistency. Provide matrix leadership and mentorship to decentralized branch Stock Controllers nationwide. Oversee an internal stock transfer system to balance surplus inventory across branches and resolve local shortages. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Commerce, or a highly analytical/quantitative field. 5 to 8+ years of group-level procurement or demand planning experience. Advanced proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. High-level MS Excel expertise (data modelling, pivot tables) or Power BI experience. Desirable Requirements Experience within industrial environments such as steel, building materials, construction, or wholesale distribution. High-volume inventory background.
