Automotive Scenic Painter, Central Shops

To provide comprehensive scenic painting service in a workshop facility which will be instrumental in maintaining and expanding the visual portion of the guest experience at Universal Orlando Resorts.

• →Paint various props (ex. - wood graining, aging, textures) to match existing surfaces.
• →Perform layout, sculpting, theming and painting of various props from Artist direction and/or conceptual drawings.
• →Perform air brush and conventional spraying, fades and blending.
• →Perform cosmetic fiberglass repairs and gel coats utilizing various materials.
• →Documentation of paints and procedures used in modifications and repairs.
• →Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
• →Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsible for a thorough knowledge of paints, performance characteristics and correct application techniques in order to meet Artist intent.

• High school degree or GED is required. 
• Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from two year college or technical school is preferred.

• Required – 3+ years’ experience in theme painting and air brush painting. Color matching and blending of new to existing finishes is necessary.
• Preferred – 5-7 years proven experience in a similar work environment dealing with critical paint issues.
• Knowledge of all phases of paint, fiberglass and sculpting are needed to be successful in this job classification.
• Free Style painting is a plus.
