Sr. Backend Developer (Python/Java)
Quick Summary
We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer (Python/Java) to join our platform engineering team and build enterprise-grade backend services that process large volumes of data and support mission-critical operations. This role focuses on designing and implementing highly scalable, high-performance microservices and APIs using primarily Python (approximately 70%) complemented by Java (30%), with a strong focus on Kubernetes-based deployments and operations.
The role offers ownership across the full software lifecycle—architecture, development, testing, deployment, performance tuning, and production support—within cloud-native and containerized environments. This is an opportunity to shape platform reliability, scalability, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable backend services and enterprise applications using Python and Java.
- →Build high-performance solutions capable of processing and managing large-scale datasets.
- →Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices integrations with internal and external systems.
- →Design software architectures that prioritize reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
- →Optimize application performance, troubleshoot production issues, and implement proactive monitoring.
- →Implement automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure management practices.
- →Deploy and operate containerized applications using Kubernetes, collaborating on orchestration and runtime configuration.
- →Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance processes.
- →Collaborate with architects, product owners, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver platform features.
- →Support production environments to ensure system availability, resiliency, and performance.
- →Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on platform modernization and operational excellence.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years of software engineering or platform engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on development experience with Python (primary language) and Java.
- Experience building and supporting large-scale distributed systems.
- Expertise developing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including production deployment, orchestration, and runtime management of containerized applications.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience working with high-volume data processing systems and enterprise integrations.
- Strong understanding of software design patterns, scalability principles, and performance optimization techniques.
- Experience with modern source control and collaborative development practices.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.*
