Device & system validation — Test validators, AVL/AFC onboard computers, driver displays, and other field hardware. Verify that devices, backend systems, and mobile apps work together correctly,
Break things before they go live.
At Ridango, we build the ticketing and transit tech that millions of passengers rely on every day. Now we need someone to make sure it works — before it reaches them.
At Ridango, our mission is to power the future of public mobility. Ridango provides an account-based ticketing platform and a wide range of software and hardware solutions used by public transport authorities and operators across multiple countries.
This role requires a hands-on engineer who enjoys working with both software and physical devices, understands system interactions, and is able to investigate issues across multiple layers of the system.
We're hiring a QA Engineer in Slovenia
This isn't a click-through-a-web-app QA role. You'll be holding validator devices, digging through firmware logs, tracing bugs across hardware, backend, and mobile — and sometimes heading out into the field to test on real vehicles. If you're the kind of engineer who stays curious when something doesn't add up, this role is built for you.
What you'll do:
- Device & system validation — Test validators, AVL/AFC onboard computers, driver displays, and other field hardware. Verify that devices, backend systems, and mobile apps work together correctly, including firmware updates.
- Test planning & execution — Design test cases covering real-world behavior, edge cases, and system interactions. Run manual and exploratory testing in lab and field environments. Support customer acceptance testing.
- Issue investigation & debugging — Dig into logs, device diagnostics, and system traces to find root causes across hardware, firmware, and backend layers. Work directly with dev teams to reproduce and fix defects.
- Release validation — Be the quality gate before device software and updates ship. Spot risks early and ensure what goes out meets the bar.
What you'll bring:
- 3+ years in QA with hands-on experience testing physical or embedded devices (IoT, payment terminals, industrial systems, or similar).
- Solid understanding of system integration, device-backend communication, and log analysis.
- Experience with device-backend communication and networking (TCP/IP, HTTP APIs).
- Ability to investigate complex issues spanning multiple system layers.
- Good communication skills; comfortable working across engineering teams.
Bonus points for: embedded Linux/Android, AFC/AVL systems, Python/Bash scripting, network traffic analysis, API testing, hardware debugging tools.
Why Ridango:
- The opportunity to work on technology used by millions of passengers worldwide.
- A dynamic and collaborative international environment.
- Challenging projects involving hardware, mobile, and backend systems.
- A supportive engineering culture focused on quality and innovation.
- Competitive compensation and opportunities for professional growth.
- A modern work environment and a team of passionate professionals.
- Your work runs on buses and trains across multiple countries. The problems are genuinely hard. The team is international, collaborative, and takes quality seriously. And there's real room to grow.
