Summary/Objective: The Sr. Director of Total Rewards is a critical role across RJW, that will develop and lead initiatives across compensation and benefits, payroll, and HR compliance. In this role, the Sr. Director of Total Rewards will be responsible for ensuring competitiveness while maintaining cost efficiency, associate engagement, aligned with long-term strategy.
Essential Functions:
1. Lead and supervise staff across compensation, benefits, payroll, and HR compliance to drive business performance, as well as comply with legal requirements
2. Manage weekly disbursement of multi-state payroll, including garnishments, benefits, and taxes to 1000 plus employees consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws.
3. Lead the annual performance review cycle, providing expert counsel on the design, development and administration of compensation programs, salary structures, and short- and long-term incentives and commissions.
4. Design, analyze, and manage reporting initiatives to review financial metrics aligning with budget, evaluate current processes, and opportunities to improve 5. Critically review and analyze current payroll, benefits and tax procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best practice operations.
6. Resolve payroll questions and errors
7. Audit W4's, payroll balance sheets, YTD earnings, etc.
8. Communicate actively with Operations, HR and Billing to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing.
9. Partner with HR in aligning and implementing a more sophisticated payroll and benefits system. 10. Oversee internal payroll and accounting audits.
11. Ensure systems are set-up and updated to reflect our current employee base, including wages, benefits, PTO.
12. Work with Controller on General Ledger.
13. Manage regular preparation of relevant management reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly and year end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, PTO accruals, tax deductions, benefits deductions, etc.
14. Responsible for all 401k monitoring and work along with CHRO in annual audits to ensure we are compliant.
Competencies:
10+ years progressive experience in payroll required.
Experience with compensation design, including incentive, commission, structure, and executive compensation desired
Experience leading and developing teams
Experience developing associate benefits programs, including developing policies and administrative regulations
Visionary leadership with successful track record in creating and leading cross-functional initiatives related to Compensation and Benefit strategies, and process implementation
Demonstrated experience in the following areas: executive compensation, salary planning, incentive plans, market pricing, job evaluation, data analysis, research, and cost modeling
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to communicate vision and gain alignment with senior leaders, both internally and externally
Ability to influence, adapt and lead through ambiguity and change in a dynamic growth environment
Supervisory Responsibility This position manages all employees of the Payroll and Benefits department.
Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment.

Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree and 4 to 10 years' related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience Master's degree in Business, or related field preferred.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals.
Ability to write letters and business correspondence;
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from all groups of employees, customers, and clients.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have advanced computer knowledge.
