As a Quality Site Manager, your primary focus will be leading and overseeing site-level Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) activities for RMR Mechanical projects. This role serves as the primary quality representative on assigned projects and works closely with project management, field supervision, craft personnel, customers, third-party inspectors, and other stakeholders to ensure work is completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, procedures, applicable codes, and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the project-specific QA/QC program at assigned job
  • Ensure construction and fabrication activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, procedures, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and applicable codes and standards.
  • Perform and oversee visual welding inspections and verify compliance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPSs).
  • Verify welder qualifications and certifications before employees perform applicable welding
  • Review welding documentation, weld maps, material documentation, inspection records, and other required quality
  • Coordinate welder testing and qualification activities as
  • Monitor welding, piping, boiler, pressure vessel, structural, and other mechanical construction activities for compliance with project requirements.
  • Support compliance with applicable ASME, NBIC, AWS, customer, and project-specific
  • Coordinate required inspections with customers, Authorized Inspectors, third-party inspectors, NDE personnel, and project leadership.
  • Review NDE results and coordinate repairs, reinspection, and documentation when
  • Identify, document, communicate, and track nonconforming work and corrective actions through
  • Conduct routine field inspections and quality surveillance of active
  • Verify required hold points, witness points, examinations, and inspections are completed before work
  • Maintain organized and accurate project quality records, turnover packages, data books, weld documentation, and inspection records.
  • Participate in pre-job planning, project kickoff meetings, quality meetings, customer meetings, and project closeout
  • Communicate quality expectations to field supervision and craft personnel and provide guidance regarding workmanship, welding quality, documentation, and code compliance.
  • Work collaboratively with Operations, Safety, Project Management, and field leadership to resolve quality concerns without compromising code, customer, or project requirements.
  • Immediately escalate significant quality concerns that could affect project integrity, schedule, customer requirements, or regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
  • 5+ years of industrial construction, welding, fabrication, QA/QC, or related experience
  • Previous experience performing welding inspection and quality oversight in an industrial construction
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes, procedures, discontinuities, inspection methods, and welding
  • Working knowledge of applicable ASME, AWS, NBIC, customer, and project-specific
  • Experience reviewing WPSs, PQRs, welder qualifications, weld maps, NDE reports, and quality
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, piping drawings, isometrics, specifications, weld symbols, and project documentation.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively and work at project locations for extended
  • Full-time field position with extensive travel to project and customer
  • Ability to work in active industrial construction environments and around welding, fabrication, and heavy equipment
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods and navigate uneven surfaces, stairs, ladders, scaffolding, and elevated work areas.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental
  • Ability to work extended hours, weekends, nights, shutdowns, or outage schedules when required by the
  • Strong leadership and field decision-making skills with the ability to manage quality priorities across active project
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to professionally communicate quality concerns to employees, supervision, customers, and inspectors.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills with a high level of attention to
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and maintain accurate project quality
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic documentation
  • Ability to coach field personnel and reinforce a culture in which quality is the responsibility of everyone who plans, inspects, supervises, or performs the work.
