If your background includes diesel repair, heavy-equipment maintenance, fleet maintenance, hydraulic systems, industrial equipment, agricultural equipment, construction equipment, or similar mechanical work, we want to hear from you.

As a Diesel Mechanic, you will diagnose, service, and repair equipment used to support daily operations. Responsibilities include:

Diagnose and repair diesel engines and related components

Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system problems

Identify the source of equipment failures and determine appropriate repairs

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and equipment inspections

Repair and replace hydraulic hoses, cylinders, pumps, fittings, and related components

Diagnose electrical problems involving wiring, batteries, starters, charging systems, and other components

Remove and replace damaged or worn mechanical parts

Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, and mechanical modifications when necessary

Inspect equipment for developing problems before they result in breakdowns

Respond to equipment failures and prioritize repairs based on operational needs

Perform repairs both inside the shop and outdoors in field conditions

Test equipment following repairs to verify proper operation

Maintain accurate records of maintenance and completed repairs

Keep tools, parts, and work areas organized

Follow company safety requirements and equipment procedures

Depending on operational needs, equipment may include:

Diesel-powered vehicles

Heavy equipment

Material-handling equipment

Specialized railroad and track equipment

Hydraulic systems

Electrical systems

Mechanical components and attachments

This variety makes the position a strong fit for a mechanic who enjoys troubleshooting different types of equipment rather than performing the same repair repeatedly.

This position is intended for an experienced mechanic. Candidates should have:

Professional experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines

Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills

Experience performing hands-on equipment repairs

Working knowledge of hydraulic systems

Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical and mechanical problems

Experience using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools

Ability to determine repair priorities and work independently

Strong attention to safety and equipment condition

Dependable attendance and punctuality

Ability to communicate repair needs and equipment status effectively

Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position

Willingness to work outdoors in changing weather conditions

Experience with heavy equipment, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, fleet vehicles, industrial machinery, or railroad equipment is highly relevant.
