Robert Plumb Management, a key part of the Collective, supports all our businesses with dedicated HR, Safety, Finance, and Operations services.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated HR Manager to lead the people function across Robert Plumb Collective.

About the Role

As HR Manager, you will lead both the strategic and day-to-day delivery of HR across the Collective. Partnering closely with leaders, you will lead workforce planning and talent acquisition initiatives, strengthen performance management practices, and deliver continuous improvement initiatives that enable sustainable business growth.

Culture & Employee Experience

  • Build strong relationships with leaders and act as a trusted advisor on people-related matters.
  • Lead and strengthen organisational culture, ensuring our values are embedded across the employee lifecycle.
  • Champion initiatives that enhance employee engagement, performance and the overall employee experience.
  • Provide practical HR advice, coaching and support to employees, managers and directors across the Group.

Recruitment & Workforce Planning

  • Drive strategic workforce planning and partner with leaders to identify current and future talent needs.
  • Proactively assess workforce capability and identify future resourcing requirements.
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment and support leaders to make informed hiring decisions aligned with business needs and culture.

Employee Relations & People Management

  • Manage employee relations matters, including performance management and disciplinary processes.
  • Diagnose people and organisational challenges and implement practical, commercially focused solutions.
  • Oversee onboarding, probation, performance review and remuneration review processes across the business.
  • Support leaders to build capability, accountability and effective people management practices.

HR Strategy, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop, review and implement HR policies, procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, modern awards and HR best practice.
  • Lead the ongoing evolution of the HR function by developing scalable processes, systems and frameworks that support growth.
  • Build capability within the HR team and ensure the function remains responsive to changing business needs.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline (preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience in a HR Manager, People & Culture Manager or similar generalist HR leadership role, with approximately 1-2 years operating at a management level and 6-10 years of broader HR experience
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and partner effectively across all levels of the business
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach, with strong judgement and the ability to navigate complex people matters with professionalism and empathy
  • Excellent organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven experience leading employee relations matters and performance management processes
  • Experience working within construction, trades, manufacturing or other operationally focused environments will be highly regarded
  • Experience working in an owner-led or founder-led business will be advantageous
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on delivery across the full employee lifecycle
