Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, executing daily accounting tasks, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of accounting principles, thrives in a collaborative environment, and possesses excellent problem-solving skills.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Financial Data Management: Record, allocate, post, and reconcile daily financial transactions, including accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), and general ledger entries.
- Account Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Month-End & Year-End Close: Assist the senior accounting team with month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries and accruals.
- Financial Reporting: Help prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Compliance & Auditing: Review financial records for accuracy and legal compliance. Prepare necessary documentation and provide support for internal and external auditors.
- Process Improvement: Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend ways to reduce costs, enhance revenue, and streamline accounting procedures.
Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Experience: At least 2 to 3 years of professional accounting experience.
- Technical Proficiencies: * Strong hands-on experience with accounting software packages (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Sage).
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
- Core Competencies:
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and tax regulations.
- Exceptional mathematical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
