Summary:
The primary responsibility of this position is to create and maintain kitting production schedules to meet fill rates, customer service expectations, and inventory targets. This will require the creation and maintenance of the related kitting bills of materials (BOM’s), production schedules and production reporting. This person will work with the Kitting Manager to oversee and manage the scheduled kit assembly process based upon available capacity and stocking requirements. They will also facilitate projects related to kitting capability and process improvement.

As the Production Planner at Sarnova, what you do each day matters as each decision impacts the supply chain of our business. The buyer uses data analysis and replenishment tools to bring in the right inventory, in the right place at the right time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Establish detailed production schedules for kitting operation to support finished goods inventory targets and custom kit requirements.
Review available material and manpower plan prior to the release of work orders required to meet expected deadlines.
Review job orders and establish priorities to ensure operation is aligned with the Master Production Schedule.
Work closely with Purchasing and Warehouse to ensure an efficient and timely flow of material/components to meet production schedules.
Optimize procurement systems by analyzing trends and proactively managing customer demand.
Provide ongoing review of parameter management to include lead times, order policy, stocking locations, safety stock and item classifications to meet or exceed objectives for purchased items and services regarding quality, on-time delivery, and service levels.
Strive to meet or exceed specific performance metrics including fill rate, inventory turns, outstanding back orders, and excess inventory levels.
Maintain kitting data within ERP to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of reporting.
Work closely with Sales to communicate accurate ETAs and to understand current/future demand.
Monitor and report progress of kitting units from work order creation through the shipping of the kits.
Identify and communicate risks cross-functionally (with Product Management and Regulatory) that may impact fill rate or service delivery to the customer.
Skills/Experience Required:
1 to 3 years of production planning experience (kitting industry preferred but not required).
Experience with costing/accounting in a production/manufacturing environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with ERP and WMS systems.
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
Results-oriented, self-motivated individual who can work in a team environment.
