The Laboratory Test Engineer is responsible for leading component and finished product validation, as well as reliability testing, within the gas valve manufacturing area. This role is pivotal in ensuring product quality, safety, and compliance by delivering robust testing, detailed failure analysis, and data‑driven insights related to manufacturing issues and customer complaints.
Working closely with cross‑functional and international partners, the Laboratory Test Engineer supports continuous improvement and the successful introduction of reliable, high‑quality products.
JOB DUTIES:
- Develop and execute validation plans for component and product changes in collaboration with partner functions across European sites (R&D, Quality, DQA)
- Actively participate in failure analysis related to manufacturing defects and customer complaints
- Perform reliability and durability testing
- Prepare clear and accurate test reports
- Maintain and update technical documentation for laboratory equipment
- Identify and implement laboratory improvement opportunities
- Contribute to VE/CE activities, NPI initiatives, and customer projects
- Collaborate closely with Quality, Production, R&D, Engineering, and Procurement to drive continuous quality improvement
- Maintain effective communication with partner functions
- Liaise with laboratories at sister plants and R&D centres
- Build and maintain professional relationships with educational institutions, laboratories, and certification bodies
YOU MUST HAVE:
- Strong mechanical engineering background with experience in a manufacturing environment
- Structured thinking and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with a clear focus on self-development
- Good command of English, both written and spoken
WE VALUE:
- Experience in gas valve manufacturing or design
- Previous test engineering experience
- User level proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Statistical knowledge, ideally with experience using Minitab
- Proficiency in measurement and testing technologies
- Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies
