The Senior Occupational Health Physician applies deep expertise in occupational medicine to ensure the health and safety of employees. This role involves independently leading the development and implementation of health programs, providing expert medical guidance on complex workplace health issues, and Health & Safety regulations. The Senior Occupational Health Physician plays a critical role in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating health-related risks, driving compliance with regulations, and contributing to the overall well-being strategies of the organization through specialized knowledge and project leadership.
- Serve as a recognized subject matter expert in occupational health, providing in-depth medical expertise and guidance on complex health and safety matters.
- Lead the planning, development, and implementation of significant occupational health programs and initiatives, managing these projects from inception through completion.
- Independently conduct comprehensive medical evaluations, assessments, and surveillance programs to identify hazardous workplace conditions and employee health risks.
- Formulate and implement innovative strategies and protocols for health hazard control, prevention, and management, including medical fitness for duty evaluations.
- Ensure strict compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local health and safety regulations, maintaining accurate records and preparing required reports.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to integrate occupational health considerations into operations and problem-solving.
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations on complex medical cases, worker's compensation issues, and return-to-work programs.
Requirements
~1 min read- 4–6 years of progressive professional experience in Occupational Medicine or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience leading significant health and safety projects or initiatives.
- Experience in the identification, assessment, and control of workplace health hazards.
- Strong expertise in Mexican Health Regulations (SSA, IMSS, STPS, COFEPRIS) and OSHA regulations.
- Board Certification in Occupational Medicine or equivalent specialized medical qualification, with proven ability to mentor junior medical or health professionals and supervise health or nursing operations focused on operational excellence.
- Advanced English proficiency.

- Ability to solve complex and ambiguous occupational health problems independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to mentor others and influence cross-functional teams.
