As the Battery Safety/Regulations Engineer, you will be at the forefront of defining and implementing safety measures and regulatory compliance for our electric vehicle battery systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to navigate and adhere to industry standards, ensuring the highest safety standards are met. This position requires a deep understanding of battery safety, regulatory requirements, and a passion for contributing to the success of an electric vehicle startup.
Responsibilities

- Ensure battery systems comply with safety standards and regulations, including but not limited to UN38.3, ISO 26262, and other relevant industry standards.
- Conduct safety assessments and risk analyses to identify and address potential safety issues.
- Stay abreast of global regulations affecting electric vehicle batteries.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies and agencies to ensure compliance with regional and international standards.
- Develop and maintain safety documentation, including safety plans, hazard analyses, and safety cases.
- Prepare and submit documentation required for regulatory approvals and certifications.
- Collaborate with testing and validation teams to design and execute safety tests for battery systems.
- Analyze test data and implement improvements based on safety performance.
- Work closely with hardware and software engineering teams to integrate safety features into battery system designs.
- Collaborate with external partners, suppliers, and testing agencies to ensure alignment with safety standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to battery safety and regulatory compliance.
- Provide expertise and guidance on emerging safety technologies and standards.
Requirements
