Video Editor — Remote (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)

We're hiring a Video Editor to help selfpublishing.com and Chandler Bolt turn podcast episodes, ads, and other raw footage into scroll-stopping short-form content, working remotely from the Rio de Janeiro, Brazil region with required overlap during Austin, TX business hours (9am–5pm CT).

What You'll Be Doing

• Editing podcast clips, ads, and other short-form content (Reels, TikToks, Shorts) with a focus on hooks, storytelling, pacing, and retention

• Publishing what you edit yourself and owning how it performs once it's live, not just views and retention, but how it converts into leads and revenue

• Enhancing videos with music, sound design, motion graphics, and finishing polish (color, mix, captions, QC) across every platform

• Collaborating with our Marketing team to align edits with titles, thumbnails, messaging, and funnel strategy, on fast-turnaround requests

• Staying on top of social and short-form trends and bringing fresh ideas to the team

• Haven't edited for a large or fast-growing short-form account or content creator

• Don't have retention-driven, revenue-generating examples in your portfolio

• Struggle with feedback or fast-paced iteration

• Can't reliably work Austin, TX hours (9am–5pm CT), Monday through Friday

You're a Great Fit If You Have

• 3+ years editing for short-form platforms, content creators, or a brand's social channels

• Know and/or continue to learn the art and science of making content that doesn't just perform but converts into leads, sales, and revenue

• Mastery of Adobe Premiere Pro (After Effects + Photoshop a plus)

• Familiarity with the metrics that drive performance (watch time, CTR, conversion rate) and a portfolio or reel that shows it

• An ownership mindset and a growth mindset: you follow through on results, test relentlessly, and keep leveling up your craft

Bonus Points For

• Editing experience with top creators, entrepreneurs, or educators

• Understanding of analytics and data-driven creative decisions

• Curiosity about AI tools, plug-ins, or workflow automation

• A proven record of contributing to measurable audience and revenue growth

• Location: Remote, based in the Rio de Janeiro, Brazil region

• Hours: Must be available Austin, TX business hours (9am–5pm CT), Monday through Friday, for real-time collaboration with the Creative team
