At Side, we believe everyone should own their path.

Side partners with top-producing real estate professionals to help them own and operate their own boutique real estate companies, without the legal, regulatory, or operational complexity of running a traditional brokerage. As a pioneer in the Brokerage-as-a-Service model, Side provides a proprietary platform that increases efficiency, strengthens client relationships, and enables entrepreneurs to focus on what they do best — selling real estate and growing their businesses.

Headquartered in San Francisco and backed by more than $300 million from top-tier venture capital firms, Side is recognized as one of the most innovative and fastest-growing companies in real estate. At Side, you’ll work alongside experienced industry leaders and world-class engineers to help shape the future of real estate and empower exceptional professionals to thrive as business owners.

Side is looking for a Senior Product Designer who can take ownership of complex product problems and drive design from discovery through launch. This role requires someone who understands when to operate independently and when to partner closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to shape the right solutions.

You will lead design efforts across initiatives, using customer research, product data, and strong product intuition to guide decisions. The right candidate is comfortable running research, synthesizing insights, and translating them into practical product improvements.

We’re looking for someone who is both strategic and hands-on: a designer who uses design thinking and data to inform their process and can produce high-quality UI.

This role also requires curiosity and continuous learning. We want someone who actively explores new tools, technologies, and methods—including thoughtful use of AI—to improve how problems are understood and solved.

This is a hybrid role based in our San Francisco headquarters. To foster collaboration and maintain our fast-paced culture, we require 2 days per week in the office.

  • Own design projects end-to-end, from discovery through final implementation
  • Partner closely with product managers and engineers to define problems, shape product strategy, and deliver solutions

  • Use data, analytics, and customer insights to inform design decisions

  • Plan and run user research, including interviews, usability testing, and concept validation

  • Design intuitive, high-quality product experiences across complex workflows

  • Contribute to and evolve the design system, leveraging existing components and proposing new variants when needed

  • Facilitate workshops or collaborative sessions when alignment or ideation is needed

  • Advocate for user-centered thinking throughout the product development process

  • 4+ years of product design experience shipping digital products

  • Comfortable owning ambiguous problems and driving work independently

  • Strong collaboration skills with product managers, engineers, and other partners

  • Experience using product data and user insights to guide design decisions

  • Experience planning and conducting user research studies

  • Strong UI craft; able to work within established components and expand them thoughtfully

  • Experience designing complex workflows and systems-level experiences

  • Clear communicator who can explain design decisions and tradeoffs

  • Experience working in fast-moving startup or high-ownership environments

  • Curiosity and growth mindset; actively learning new tools, methods, and technologies

  • Thoughtful use of AI tools to support research, analysis, or problem framing (not as a replacement for design thinking)

  • Highly proficient with modern design tools (Figma or similar)
