Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Presence & Conversation: Facilitate in-server conversation, welcome new members, and run daily prompts to build and maintain a healthy community.
- Cultural Curation: Bring current trends on SoundCloud, underground music, emerging genres, and internet culture into the server. Surface what's bubbling and help members find it first. Support community programming, events, and listening parties.
- On-Camera & Brand Presence: Act as a recognizable personality within the community. Help host live streams, town halls, Q&As, stage channels, and creator spotlights on-camera and in voice channels.
- Real-Time Moderation & Problem Solving: Monitor community health, moving swiftly to address member concerns, diffuse conflicts, and escalate when needed.
- Community Advocacy: Be a visible point of contact for members in the server. Surface feedback and community sentiment to the wider team.
- Growth & Engagement: Support community events, contests, and exclusive drops that deepen how members engage with SoundCloud.
Experience and Background:
- Discord Fluency: Hands-on experience moderating, managing and growing digital communities, specifically on Discord. You understand roles, channels, threads, stage channels, and you’re comfortable using moderation and utility bots day to day.
- Cultural Alignment: Genuine passion for underground music scenes, emerging artist movements, and internet culture. Active SoundCloud user.
- On-Camera Confidence: Natural comfort being on video, hosting live streams, speaking publicly, and engaging directly with members in real time.
- Agility & Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to act fast in real-time environments.
- Self-Direction: Proactive and comfortable leading conversation without being told what to post.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working at a music tech platform, record label, streaming service, or creator-economy startup.
- Experience organizing virtual events, listening sessions, or stage performances inside Discord or adjacent platforms (Twitch, YouTube).
The salary range for this role is $26 hourly. The final salary offered will be determined based on relative experience, skills, internal equity, and location. This is a temporary part-time role (20hrs/week) for 3 months.
