The SMX Space and Intelligence (S&I) Business Unit (BU) is on the ground floor across the future remote sensing ecosystem for all orbital regimes (LEO, MEO, HEO, and GEO). We build, integrate, and operationally support our customer's emerging space-ground systems to include real-time data processing frameworks, sensor data processing, and data visualization. We have an immediate opportunity for an Senior Software Platform Engineer who is excited to apply their talents to our customer's challenging project and one who will thrive in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is a recognized professional with hands-on expertise and an excellent understanding of engineering processes supporting large, National Defense, Agile software development programs.

Responsibilities

→Serve as a platform engineering contributor within an integration team at the customer site
→Support the integration and deployment of applications into containerized PaaS environments
→Design and implement deployment strategies across development, test, and operational systems
→Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines supporting secure and repeatable application delivery
→Integrate development tools for:
- →Artifact management
- →Automated testing
- →Code quality and security analysis
- →Troubleshoot deployed applications and platform services; perform root-cause analysis
→Work closely with other engineers and integration team members to resolve technical issues
→Interface with customer stakeholders to support platform operations and application onboarding
→Contribute to platform documentation, standards, and best practices
→Participate in Agile ceremonies and technical discussions
→Support continuous improvement, automation, and platform reliability efforts
→Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Experience

→Secret clearance
→Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
→8+ years of professional experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or a related role
→3+ years of experience administering Linux systems
→2+ years of experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
→2+ years of experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
→Experience with artifact management and version control systems
→Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in distributed systems
→Ability to work 100% on-site at a customer location
→Strong verbal and written communication skills
→Detail-oriented and able to work independently while collaborating with a team

Desired Skills & Experience

→Experience with GitLab CI/CD or similar CI/CD platforms
→Experience creating and maintaining Helm charts
→Experience with artifact repositories such as Artifactory
→Experience integrating systems in government or secure environments
→Familiarity with platform security and compliance considerations
→Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers
→Previous experience in customer-facing technical roles

The proposed salary for this position is:

$158,500—$247,600 USD
