As a Global Trade Compliance Analyst, you will support SpaceX’s space launch and Starlink internet businesses as part of the global trade compliance team. You will work closely with attorneys, other legal and compliance professionals, internal clients (primarily SpaceX engineers), and external customers on matters related to export controls, compliance risk assessments, and compliance process automation utilizing generative AI and other technology tools.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Draft, submit, and manage compliance with export licenses and exceptions under the EAR and ITAR
- →Conduct technical data reviews as related to U.S. export laws
- →Support jurisdiction and classification exercises and determinations
- →Conduct risk assessments and audits and help develop remedial measures for compliance infractions
- →Manage compliance procedures related to U.S. export laws and identify and implement compliance improvements, including the use of generative AI technology tools
- →Proactively identify and qualify export risks, compliance gaps, and emerging issues; design and recommend mitigation strategies and business solutions
- →Advise and educate internal stakeholders on U.S. export laws, including use of ITAR and EAR authorizations, export policies and procedures, and technology controls.
- →Research U.S. federal statutes, regulations, directives, and guidance related to U.S. export laws
Requirements

- 2+ years of experience as a legal analyst or paralegal

- Experience drafting and managing export licenses and license exceptions
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities
- Experience conducting compliance audits and/or risk assessments
- Experience conducting technical data reviews and jurisdiction and classification analyses
- Experience operationalizing compliance procedures and systems
- Experience working with AI technology tools, including the design and deployment of agentic workflows for process automation
Requirements
~1 min read- Willingness to travel approximately once a quarter
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed
- This is not a remote or hybrid position and will require relocation if not already local to the Los Angeles area
