What We Offer
~1 min readWhen something spins fast, heavier parts get pushed outward more than lighter parts. A centrifuge uses this principle to separate things that are mixed together.
7
- Blood samples: separates into plasma, red blood cells, and platelets
- Cell biology: isolates cells, proteins, or DNA
- Clinical labs: prepares samples for testing
- Pharma/biotech: used in drug development and research
- Samples are placed in tubes inside a rotating rotor
- The machine spins them at thousands of RPM
- Dense materials move outward (to the bottom of the tube)
- Lighter materials stay closer to the top
For a Centrifuge Field Service Engineer/Tech, they're typically:
- Maintaining motors, rotors, and control systems
- Troubleshooting imbalance, vibration, or speed issues
- Calibrating and ensuring safe operation (these can spin really fast)
- Supporting labs where uptime is critical
If you want, I can also give you a quick how to explain centrifuge to candidates version for outreach—it helps a lot with response rates.
is it different than Center fuge
Yes—centrifuge is the correct term.
Center fuge is just a misspelling or phonetic way of saying it—there's no different meaning.
- Centrifuge = correct scientific/industry term
- Center fuge = incorrect spelling
The word comes from centrifugal force (force pushing outward from the center), so people sometimes mistakenly split it into center + fuge.
For your recruiting/outreach, always use centrifuge—that's what candidates and hiring managers will search for on LinkedIn.
