Onsite Reviewer – Ohio Department of Medicaid Location: OhioColumbus and surrounding areas Position Overview The Onsite Reviewer supports the Ohio Department of Medicaid by conducting onsite provider reviews to ensure Medicaid services are delivered appropriately and in compliance with Ohio Administrative Code requirements. This role involves independently traveling to provider locations across Ohio to conduct site visits using a comprehensive, ODM‑approved checklist. The Onsite Reviewer evaluates provider compliance, documents findings accurately, and makes enrollment or continued enrollment recommendations based on the information gathered. Daily travel is required, and overnight stays may be necessary depending on assignment location and scheduling. Essential Responsibilities Travel daily to assigned provider site locations throughout Ohio Conduct onsite reviews of Medicaid providers at designated service locations Execute ODM‑approved site visit checklists and interview providers in accordance with established protocols Accurately and thoroughly document site visit findings using clear grammar and professional writing Ensure documentation clearly reflects the site visit experience and outcomes Submit completed site visit documentation in accordance with quality assurance standards and established deadlines Make informed recommendations regarding provider enrollment or continued enrollment based on review findings Maintain strict confidentiality of all provider and site visit information Meet established productivity, quality, and customer service performance standards Work independently as a solo reviewer while collaborating within a team environment Self‑manage assignments, timelines, and deadlines Address provider questions and concerns professionally and identify potential process improvements Analyze provider practices and documentation to ensure compliance with ODM requirements Maintain a professional appearance and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree Valid driver’s license with a good driving record Proof of active auto insurance Proficiency using tablets (iPad or similar devices) Strong dictation skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Strong sense of direction and comfort with regional travel Experience Requirements Candidates must have two (2) or more years of provider‑related experience in one or more of the following areas: Public health Critical care Pediatrics Elder care Developmental disabilities AND/OR one (1) or more years of experience in: Provider monitoring Medicaid or third‑party billing Provider training Home health services Long‑term care (LTC) programs Public institutions Mental health services Community or social services Preferred Skills & Competencies Excellent time management and organizational skills Strong written and verbal communication abilities High attention to detail and documentation accuracy Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Honest, reliable, and self‑motivated work ethic Strong technical aptitude Benefits That Support You At SSO, we invest in our employees by supporting health, financial stability, and career growth.
