The Manager, Material Management leads the material planning function to ensure a reliable supply of materials supporting production and customer demand. The role focuses on building and developing a high-performing team, improving planning processes, and strengthening collaboration across supply chain functions.
This position plays a critical role in translating production plans into effective procurement and material plans, ensuring the right materials are available at the right time while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
• Location: Waalre, NLD
• Travel: Intermittent international travel
• Type of Contract: Temporary Mission - 12 Months
• Lead, coach, and develop the Material Management team
• Set expectations and drive performance clear
• Build structure, accountability, and collaboration within the team
• Ensure effective material planning processes to support production requirements and prevent supply disruptions
• Translate production plans into material procurement and supply plans
• Drive improvements in planning and purchasing processes, systems, and data accuracy
• Support the implementation and effective use of planning tools and ERP systems
• Contribute to the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process by providing material planning inputs and scenarios
• Work closely with Procurement, Manufacturing, Planning, Customer Service, and Finance to ensure alignment and operational efficiency
• Monitor and optimize inventory levels while addressing shortages, excess inventory, and expiring materials
• Collaborate with Procurement and suppliers to ensure supply reliability and capacity alignment
Your areas of knowledge and expertise (that matters the most for this role):
• Experience in Supply Chain, Material Planning, or Material Management
• Proven experience leading and developing teams
• Experience working in manufacturing or supply chain environments
• Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and planning tools
• Understanding of supply chain planning processes including demand planning, supply planning, inventory management, and MRP
• Experience participating in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes
• Strong people leadership and team development capabilities
• Ability to drive accountability and performance within teams
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field
• Professional supply chain certifications (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP) are a plus
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in end-to-end supply chain
• Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience
• Knowledge and practice of S&OP and S&OE processes
• Experience implementing and using planning tools, preferably SAP and planning platforms.
