As an Engineer at StackAdapt, you will be directly involved in the development of our advertising platform, producing production-level code that will have a direct impact on the success of our product. You will work with large data sets and have exposure to modern tech stacks around GoLang, Ruby on Rails, React, GraphQL and more. StackAdapt’s engineering organization believes in working collaboratively and cross-functionally. The Delta Force team is a specialized, cross-functional squad of highly skilled engineers deployed to tackle high-impact “quick wins” and quality-of-life improvements across the platform. Trained in multiple product domains and technical areas, this team operates with speed, precision, and autonomy to eliminate friction points, address user pain, and accelerate value delivery where it’s most needed.

StackAdapt is a Remote First company, we are open to candidates located anywhere in Canada for this position.

 

Responsibilities

  • Unique to this team are opportunities to work directly with users and drive projects to completion end-to-end
  • Design, improve, and debug complex, scalable distributed systems
  • Write extensible, scalable and test-driven code
  • Take part in sprint planning and architectural decision-making
  • Collaborate with team members on designing scalable, well tested, and well documented web architecture, including APIs and backend systems. As an engineer, you are expected to take responsibility and ownership of projects from start to finish
  • Contribute to code reviews and technical spec reviews
  • 2+ years of full-time work experience building highly performant web applications
  • Knowledge of our full-stack technologies is highly preferred - React, Typescript, Redux, Ruby on Rails etc.
  • Experience with implementing a client-facing project end-to-end, from design to delivery
  • Strong understanding of scalable system design for web-based APIs (GraphQL, gPRC or REST)  and backend processing systems
  • Experience collaborating closely with Product & Design to design, implement and iterate on high impact end-to-end product experiences
  • Experience working on large scale Ruby on Rails /  GraphQL projects a plus
  • Basic knowledge of AWS or other equivalent cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, etc.)
  • Experience analyzing, benchmarking and optimizing web application page load performance across the entire stack
  • Experience with the AdTech industry is a plus
