Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior HR Business Partner to serve as the regional HR lead for India, supporting ~100 employees across our Tech, Product, and Risk Operations teams. This role is a strategic partner to business leaders and a hands-on operator across all core HR functions.

 

You’ll work closely with leadership to drive performance, strengthen culture, and ensure strong execution across employee relations, performance management, compliance, and people programs.

 

What You’ll Do

Strategic Business Partnering

  • Partner with regional leaders to align HR strategies with business goals
  • Act as a trusted advisor to managers on organizational design, team effectiveness, and workforce planning
  • Support leaders through change management initiatives and organizational growth

Employee Relations & Performance

  • Manage and resolve employee relations matters, conducting fair and thorough investigations
  • Coach managers on performance management, feedback, and development planning
  • Support performance improvement processes and career development conversations

People Operations

  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a strong employee experience
  • Partner with the payroll team to ensure accurate and timely payroll execution (Keka)
  • Maintain and optimize HR processes using BambooHR (HRIS)
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws and company policies

Compensation & Talent

  • Provide guidance on compensation decisions, including offers, promotions, and salary adjustments
  • Support hiring efforts by partnering with recruiting and participating in interviews as needed
  • Identify training and development needs and support implementation of learning initiatives

Data & Insights

  • Analyze HR metrics and trends to inform decision-making and improve programs
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to leadership

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with the broader People team (TA, Payroll, etc.) to deliver consistent, high-quality HR support
  • Drive adoption of company-wide people programs and initiatives

 

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of HR experience, including strong HRBP or generalist experience in a fast-paced environment (preferably SaaS/startup)
  • Experience supporting Tech, Product, or similar functions
  • Strong knowledge of Indian labor laws and HR best practices
  • Proven ability to influence and partner with senior stakeholders
  • Hands-on, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to operate independently
  • Experience with HRIS systems (BambooHR preferred) and payroll coordination (Keka a plus)
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • MBA/PGDM with specialization in HR or Industrial Relations (preferred but not required)
  • Professional HR certifications such as SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, HRCI (PHR/SPHR), or Indian certifications (e.g., XLRI/TISS programs) are a plus.
