Per Diem - Nurse Practiioner

The Per Diem Nurse Practitioner provides quality service by performing a variety of functions and technical procedures necessary for the admission of patients, utilizing the nursing processes of assessment, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and outcome evaluation.  Performs the duties of a Registered Professional Nurse, as maybe necessary.

• Master’s Degree in Nurse Practitioner Program
• Completion of a pharmacology component of not less than three (3) semester hours or the equivalent AND has been instructed in New York State and federal laws relating to prescription and record keeping (3-hour course).
• Two (2) to three (3) years relevant clinical experience.
• Current New York State Licensed Registered Professional Nurse and Nurse Practitioner
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Certification in Infection Control
• DEA Registration
• Nurse Practitioner Certification from the American Nurses Credential Center (ANCC) or American Association of Nurse Practitioner (AANP)
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to deal with patients, co-workers and physicians in an effective and professional manner.
