We’re looking for an OB Transport Nurse, someone who’s ready to be part of the best ranked children’s hospital in Texas, and among the best in the nation.
In this position, you will provide quality nursing care, treatment, and stabilization of laboring and/or critically ill obstetric patients during transport. You will oversee all aspects of patient care throughout transport and work collaboratively with the Kangaroo Crew (KC) to assess, treat, and stabilize patients and families until transfer to a higher level of care when indicated.
This role requires strong critical thinking skills, advanced obstetric expertise, and the ability to respond effectively in high-pressure situations. The OB Transport Nurse will serve as a patient and family advocate, participate in quality and safety initiatives, and help ensure transport readiness while maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence and compassionate care.

Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Provide expert nursing care, assessment, stabilization, and emergency intervention for laboring and critically ill obstetric patients during transport.
- →Collaborate with physicians, transport teams, and healthcare professionals to optimize maternal and neonatal outcomes.
- →Perform advanced obstetric, fetal, and neonatal procedures within scope of practice, including emergency delivery management when needed.
- →Serve as a patient and family advocate by providing compassionate support, education, and communication throughout the transport process.
- →Maintain accurate and timely patient care documentation and transport records.
- →Ensure transport readiness through equipment management, safety compliance, and adherence to established protocols and procedures.
- →Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, education programs, and department activities that support excellence in patient care and transport services.
- →Maintain clinical competency and serve as a resource to patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree in a related field accepted by the Texas Board of Nursing for the purposes of obtaining and maintaining an RN license, technical diploma in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement, or currently enrolled in a nursing bridge program working toward an MSN is required
- RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing or Nurse Licensure Compact required
- BLS from the American Heart Association required
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 4 months of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire
- RNC-OB (Inpatient Obstetric Nursing) certification required
- 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience in a high-risk L&D care setting required
