Project Manager - Contract

Organizations don't struggle because they lack project plans.

They struggle when priorities compete, stakeholders aren't aligned, vendors miss expectations, risks go unnoticed, and critical initiatives lose momentum.

We're looking for a Project Manager who can bring structure to complexity, drive execution across diverse teams, and ensure important initiatives move from concept to completion with clarity, accountability, and measurable results.

Success means projects are delivered predictably, stakeholders stay informed, issues are addressed before they become roadblocks, and teams remain focused on outcomes rather than activity.

You'll lead medium to large-scale projects from initiation through closure, serving as the central point of coordination for teams, stakeholders, and external partners.

Your job is not simply to manage schedules. Your role is to create clarity, facilitate decisions, remove obstacles, and ensure projects deliver the intended business outcomes.

You'll operate in environments where priorities shift, requirements evolve, and multiple groups need alignment to keep work moving forward.

On any given day, you may:

• Facilitate conversations that help stakeholders reach decisions and maintain momentum.
• Build alignment between business leaders, technical teams, vendors, and subject matter experts.
• Identify risks early and develop practical mitigation strategies.
• Remove blockers that threaten timelines, budgets, or project objectives.
• Translate complex project information into clear status updates for stakeholders and leadership.
• Coordinate resources, dependencies, and deliverables across multiple workstreams.
• Lead implementation and change efforts that help teams successfully adopt new processes or solutions.
• Analyze project challenges, uncover root causes, and recommend actionable solutions.
• Monitor project health and adjust plans as business needs evolve.
• Manage vendor performance and ensure commitments are met.

We're looking for someone who can consistently answer questions such as:

• What could derail this project, and how do we prevent it?
• Which decisions need leadership attention now?
• How do we keep progress moving when priorities conflict?
• How do we balance timeline, budget, compliance, and stakeholder expectations?
• What information do stakeholders need to stay engaged and confident?
• How do we turn ambiguity into an actionable plan?

The right person brings sound judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to influence outcomes without relying on positional authority.

You should be comfortable leading through uncertainty, managing competing priorities, and helping teams stay focused on results.

You'll likely excel in this role if you've:

• Led complex projects involving multiple teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
• Delivered initiatives from planning through implementation and closure.
• Managed project risks, dependencies, scope changes, and competing priorities.
• Facilitated discussions that drove decisions and accountability.
• Presented project status and recommendations to leadership.
• Managed vendor relationships and held partners accountable for deliverables.
• Worked in environments with regulatory, compliance, governance, or reporting requirements.
• Successfully guided teams through organizational or process change.

• Experience working within a Project Management Office (PMO).
• Experience supporting government, healthcare, or highly regulated organizations.
• Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery approaches, and the judgment to know when each is appropriate.
• Experience using project planning and reporting tools to maintain visibility and accountability.
• Formal project management training, certifications, or PMO experience.

Within your first year:

• Key projects are delivered with predictable execution and clear stakeholder communication.
• Risks are identified and addressed before they become major issues.
• Teams and vendors operate with greater accountability and alignment.
• Leadership has confidence in project status, priorities, and outcomes.
• Stakeholders view you as the person who brings clarity, drives decisions, and gets initiatives across the finish line.
