Senior Android developer

We are looking for a Senior Android Developer with 5+ years of programming background to join a mature, fast-growing product and build native Android experiences from the ground up alongside a hybrid mobile team.

• 5+ years of professional experience developing Android applications in Kotlin and/or Java
• Strong understanding of Android SDK, Jetpack components, and modern architecture patterns (e.g., MVVM, Clean Architecture)
• Proven experience developing and maintaining native Android plugins for Ionic/Cordova or Capacitor
• Hands-on experience integrating native Android functionality (e.g., sensors, notifications, background tasks) into hybrid apps
• Comfortable debugging and optimizing cross-platform applications with WebView-based components
• Experience with Android build tools (Gradle), app signing, and publishing to the Google Play Store
• Familiarity with the Ionic Framework and hybrid app development concepts
• Solid understanding of mobile UI/UX best practices, with a focus on performance and responsiveness
• Experience working with RESTful APIs, Firebase, and 3rd-party SDKs
• Strong Git and version control habits; experience with CI/CD pipelines for Android
• Hands-on experience using AI tools (Claude, Cursor, Claude Code) to improve and accelerate development
• English: Upper-Intermediate or Advanced (the client interacts directly with the team)

• Familiarity with iOS development, even at a high level, to support cross-platform coordination
• Exposure to testing frameworks such as Espresso, UI Automator, or Detox for hybrid apps
• Experience working with Angular, Capacitor, React Native, or other cross-platform frameworks
• Experience working in a startup or fast-paced product development environment
