Software Engineer - Telecel Cash

Role Purpose Design, develop, test, integrate, and maintain high-quality software solutions that support Telecel Cash products and services. Work closely with the Solutions Architect & Engineering Manager and cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable applications that meet business and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and services in line with approved solution architecture and engineering standards. Produce clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that meets quality and security requirements. Develop and support integrations with banks, payment switches, merchants, regulators, and third-party systems using APIs and middleware technologies. Troubleshoot integration issues and ensure reliable data exchange across platforms. Participate in unit, integration, system, and user acceptance testing. Support application deployments, production releases, and post-go-live activities while assisting in the resolution of application issues and defects. Participate in code reviews, adhere to engineering standards, and contribute to DevSecOps, CI/CD, and automation initiatives. Identify opportunities to improve application performance, reliability, and maintainability. Work closely with architects, product owners, QA engineers, business stakeholders, and operations teams to deliver solutions on time and within scope. Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and technical discussions. Must have Technical / Professional Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline. 3–5 years' experience in software development. Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript). Experience developing RESTful APIs, microservices, and enterprise applications. Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle) and SQL. Experience with Git and modern software development practices. Understanding of Agile development methodologies. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills. Good communication and teamwork skills. Experience in fin-tech, digital payments, mobile money, or telecommunications. Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines. Knowledge of secure software development practices and application security principles. Experience with integration technologies, messaging platforms, and middleware.
