A family-owned and operated construction subcontractor is seeking a hands-on Construction Accountant to join their growing team in Indiantown, FL. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, bringing organization to accounting operations, and working closely with leadership in a collaborative environment.

The company specializes in commercial, government, and industrial construction projects including brick, block, stone installation, concrete work, and restoration/repair projects ranging from $20K to $5M in value.

What You’ll Do:

• Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and proper coding
• Prepare financial reports and support day-to-day accounting operations
• Track and analyze job costs across 20–25 active projects
• Manage and maintain Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules
• Perform month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting
• Complete bank reconciliations and maintain balanced accounts
• Assist with AIA billing related to construction projects
• Support collections efforts and financial tracking
• Help clean up and organize financial records to bring accounting processes up to date
• Work closely with the Controller and leadership team to improve processes and maintain accurate reporting as the company continues to grow

Project Details:

• 20–25 active projects at a time
• Project sizes ranging from $20K–$5M
• Project durations ranging from 1 month to 2 years
• Commercial, government, and industrial projects

What They’re Looking For:

• 3–5+ years of accounting experience
• Construction accounting experience REQUIRED
• Strong understanding of job costing, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, WIP schedules, month-end close, bank reconciliations, and AIA billing
• Experience with Deltek REQUIRED!
  
• Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable helping bring structure and organization to a growing accounting department
