Ensure security of cargo, equipment, infrastructure, and company property within the port and terminal premises by implementing robust security protocols, monitoring systems, and preventive measures, while minimizing risks of theft, damage, or operational disruptions. To ensure that security practices at Port are implemented and maintained for the physical safety of all visitors, employees or customers to DP World facilities. Act as Deputy Port Facility Security Officer (Deputy PFSO), assisting in compliance with the ISPS Code, coordinating security plans, audits, drills, and liaising with regulatory authorities and stakeholders to maintain port security standards. To ensure that Port is certified to International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS Code) requirements and remains remain complaint. To ensure that security awareness becomes a culture within the area of responsibility, using security campaigns, training, outreach, and awareness sessions, either in person to locally based colleagues or remotely through delegated security managers regionally. To ensure all travellers to the site are apprised of security risk factors and implement measures and mitigation techniques appropriate to the specific location. To maintain close contact with regional peers within DP World and to build effective relationships with regional and local agencies who can assist the collection of security information and the response of an incident. To assist in the implementation and maintenance of ISO 28000:2022 Specification for security management systems for the supply chain. - Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 (OHSAS 18001 equivalent), and ISO 27001 standards, with zero major or minor non-conformities (NCs) during internal and external audits. Maintain valid certifications across all applicable port and terminal operations throughout the year.
To assist business units, meet and maintain other security compliance initiatives such as AEO, CTPAT, CSI, TAPA etc. Undertake Risk Assessments and provide advice on security matters and compliance for new projects. Coordinate and engage with Operations and other departments during various audits and drills such as ISPS, Indian Coast Guard reviews, US Coast Guard, Indian Navy, port and police exercises/ drills, and inspections by intelligence agencies. Undertake security reviews and/or audits within port as per frequency agreed with Vertical Security Head and Group Security. Responsible for filing complaints, managing follow-ups through closure for any security issue or incident with JNPA, Customs, Police, CISF, or any other regulatory bodies and local community, ensuring operations continue without disruption. - Collaborate with Port Authorities to ensure all security measures are aligned with the Port Facility Security Plan (PFSP). Conduct periodic reviews to ensure implementation effectiveness and regulatory adherence
- Ensure all security measures are implemented in line with Port Security Advisory Committee (PSAC) directives. Actively support quarterly PSAC meetings chaired by senior port authority leadership and ensure closure of all action points.
- Maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders including: Police, Customs, CISF, Navy, Coast Guard, Port Authorities, Traffic Police, Tahsildar Office, Directorate General of Dock Safety.
Ensure coordination with CISF for access control, no operational delays due to manpower access constraints (covering 1,400+ contract personnel). Coordinate with CISF (MHA) for timely issuance and renewal of quarterly dock permits/port entry passes. - Liaise with FRRO and Immigration authorities to ensure timely issuance of dock permits for 200+ foreign nationals annually. Ensure compliance with all immigration and security regulations.
- Coordinate security arrangements for visits: VVIPs, Government Officials, Foreign Delegations, Ambassadors. Police/CISF escort as required needs to be managed. Ensure adherence to protocol, safety, and operational continuity.
- Coordinate and ensure timely closure of SIT (Mumbai Police) audit observations within agreed timelines, with full compliance and documentation.
Effectively collaborate with operations and support functions to assess and enhance security measures for current and future business processes and initiatives. Ensure deployment and availability of security personnel from partner agencies as per operational needs. Plan & manage security budget in line with business and RO requirements. Perform interior & exterior loss prevention audits, being alert to & responding to any security of loss prevention issues noted at the site. Encourage and reinforce loss prevention and asset protection among employees by promoting ethical behavior, vigilance, and compliance with established security procedures. Monitor the site for compliance with security & loss prevention policies. Establish & use risk assessment process to identify & prioritize risks & mitigation means at the Port. Liaise & cooperate with law enforcement & industry bodies, as well as vendors, suppliers & partners to effectively resolve exposures & mitigate risks. Demonstrate knowledge of loss prevention best practices in supply chain, to include application of physical security systems, warehouse security management, investigation techniques/laws of arrest, management of contract guards’ agencies, delivery carriers’ loss mitigation techniques. Conduct new hire orientation & training. - Ensure full compliance with Group Security and Regional Security guidelines. Drive standardization and continuous improvement across all SEA port and terminal operations
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of all security-related activities, including updates from the previous day/last reporting period and planned actions for the upcoming days.
