Role Purpose:

Global Freight Forwarding Finance is responsible for managing global intercompany reconciliation activities

across Freight Forwarding entities and regions. The role ensures accurate reconciliation, timely resolution

of differences, effective intercompany netting and settlement, and compliance with group financial

controls. The position serves as a key liaison between Group Finance Team, Regional Finance Teams,

Global Shared Service (GSC) Team and Freight Forwarding Operations to support accurate financial

reporting and efficient working capital management.

Designation: Specialist - Forwarding Finance - Global Service Centre

Base Location: Navi Mumbai

Reporting to: Asst. Manager -Finance-Freight Forwarding

Key Role Responsibilities:

Global Intercompany Reconciliation

 Perform monthly reconciliation of intercompany balances and transactions across global Freight

Forwarding entities using Oracle/other system reports for GSC‑ supported entities.

 Perform intercompany reconciliations between GSC‑ supported entities and other intercompany

counterparts on a monthly and ad‑ hoc basis.

 Investigate and resolve intercompany mismatches, unreconciled balances, and aged open items.

 Coordinate with GSC Finance teams, Regional Finance teams, and intercompany counterparties to

ensure timely resolution of reconciling items.

 Ensure completion of intercompany reconciliations within agreed timelines.

 Monitor intercompany ageing and drive corrective actions to minimize outstanding balances.

Netting & Settlement Management

 Prepare and execute global intercompany netting and settlement processes for Freight Forwarding

entities supported by GSC using Oracle or other prevailing systems. Validate balances included in netting cycles and coordinate with participating entities and GSC Freight

Forwarding Finance teams.

 Track settlement status and ensure timely closure of outstanding intercompany positions.

 Prepare reports and dashboards related to netting participation and settlement performance.

Stakeholder Management

 Partner with Global Freight Forwarding Finance, Regional Controllers, Global Shared Service Centre,

and Operations teams.

 Facilitate regular governance discussions to review reconciliation status and aged balances.

 Provide timely updates and escalate critical issues impacting financial close or settlements.

 Build strong working relationships with GSC teams and global stakeholders to drive issue resolution

and ensure process compliance.

Controls, Compliance & Reporting

 Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, internal controls, and financial governance

requirements.

 Maintain complete reconciliation documentation with audit‑ ready supporting evidence.

 Support internal and external audits by providing required data, explanations, and supporting

schedules.

 Prepare reconciliation metrics, KPIs, and management summaries to support governance and

decision‑ making.

Process Maturity & Continuous Improvement

 Support Process Maturity Model (PMM) initiatives as directed by the Team Lead or Manager.

 Execute assigned process improvement actions and support implementation of standard operating

procedures (SOPs).

 Identify process gaps, recurring reconciliation issues, and bottlenecks, and recommend practical

improvements.

 Participate in continuous improvement and system enhancement initiatives related to intercompany

accounting, reconciliation, netting, and reporting.

 Contributes to automation, standardization, and simplification of reconciliation and settlement

activities to reduce manual effort and cycle time.

 Assist in maintaining and updating process documentation, work instructions, SOPs, and knowledge

repositories.

 Support data collection and preparation of metrics required for governance reviews and process

maturity assessments.

 Share process knowledge and best practices to promote consistency and standardization across

regions.

 Proactively escalate unresolved discrepancies, risks, or inefficiencies to the Team Lead/Manager.

 Participate in cross‑ functional and system training to strengthen understanding of end‑ to‑ end

intercompany processes and business impact.

Skills & Competencies:

 Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.

 Strong understanding of Intercompany Accounting, Balance Sheet Reconciliations, and Financial Close

processes

 Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle Fusion, SAP or similar financial systems.

 Ability to work well in a team environment while also being able to handle individual tasks effectively.
 Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting

 Ability to analyse large datasets and identify root causes of reconciliation differences.

 Effective communication and problem-solving skills to manage customer inquiries and resolve issues

professionally.

 Good verbal and written communication skills.

 Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities.

 Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Education, Qualifications & Experience

 Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.

 3-5 years of experience in Inter Company Reconciliation for Global operation or a related field.

 Knowledge of accounting principles.

 Familiarity with accounting software and systems (e.g. Oracle).
